When is Sandringham Hospital Screening Clinic Open?

Sandringham Hospital Screening Clinic is open 7 days a week from 8:00am til 6:00pm and is closed for necessary deep cleaning daily 12:30pm til 1:10pm.

Is the Sandringham Hospital Screening Clinic part of Sandringham Hospital?

The Sandringham Hospital Screening Clinic operates independently from Sandringham Hospital. The service is operated by Sandringham Ambulatory Care Centre (SACC) in partnership with Department of Health and Alfred Health.

Where is Sandringham Hospital Screening Clinic located? Do I need to come into the main part of the Hospital?

We are located at the rear of the Sandringham Hospital’s main car park at 193 Bluff Road, Sandringham.

The clinic is adjacent to the Day Procedure Centre and Outpatients clinic. Signage directs you from the front of the hospital and car park. When attending the clinic, do not enter the hospital main entrance. Please follow the signs and present directly to the screening clinic.

Can I book an appointment?

This is a walk up clinic. We cannot make appointments, you can attend any time during operating hours.

Who can be tested at the clinic?

We are currently accepting the following people for testing:

  • Symptomatic displaying listed symptoms
  • Asymptomatic
  • Preoperative testing

However we are unable to provide a certificate for your test, those being tested will only receive a text message with results.

We cannot test individuals that require international pre-travel testing. You will need to speak to your GP regarding international pre-travel testing. Domestic travel testing is available.

Can children be tested at the clinic?

Yes. However, people under the age of 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian to receive a COVID-19 swab. The guardian must be present during the entire testing process.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No referral is required to attend the screening clinic. However, if you are very unwell you should contact your GP or the closest emergency department.
